“It seems that betting on the latest generation of Ellipticor drivers is necessarily a choice for success. After the beautiful Virtuosa Anniversario, XAVIAN built the compact (though still boldly large by two-way standmount standards) Medea, and these are perhaps even better to listen to. Perhaps it’s the even simpler crossover and more focused radiation, but it’s a breathtakingly open, clean, fantastically detailed, but most importantly, supremely fast and specific sound. Along with perfect transparency, you just get what you drop into the Medea, except perhaps in the lowest octave. The Ellipticor are not “meaty” either, but the music is all the more vivid and immediate for it. You might think that three hundred thousand (Czech crowns) for a stand-mounted model with two transducers is a lot, but when you consider the robust cabinet, super-expensive drivers and, most importantly, the Ellipticor’s perhaps unrivalled sonic performance, you are presented with a fascinating teleport leading to the heart of the music, in which everything can be heard. XAVIAN Medea are a pearl not only of the Czech, but also of the world high-end. Bravo!”
